The room was not in the hostels location but in a house in another street a couple minutes walk away.
We arrived at 4 in the morning as our night bus was way earlier than expected. As we had no other place to go and didnu2019t find any hotel that would give us a bed we went to the hostel hoping they would at least give us a save space to chill. But instead they send us away, leaving us in the dark streets with all kinds drunk people etc.. which is not at all the safest. Overall a bit disappointing.
We came after a long bus ride (15 hours) at 6am, when it says 24 hours reception and no one was there.
The guy who works there let us leave the bags but said he is not responsible if someone will enter and take the bags. He told us we can't wait in the hostel till the check in and we had to wait outside alone in the early morning in Medellin!!! It is not the nicest city for two women alone so early in the morning. They didn't let our friends in to the toilet or drink a glass of water. The kitchen is not wel

The location is amazing & good value for money. The only negatives I experienced were the bathrooms could use some improvement, the kitchen was never cleaned good, and I had a couple of multi-legged visitors in my room. I would stay again

I have stayed at 20+ hostels in Medellin and Panela is easily my favorite. Itu2019s the perfect blend of chill vibe and party. Family style dinner many nights. And someone may be dancing on the table in garden by the end of night. Small cafe in front of hostel makes very convenient. Location! Steps away from amazing restaurants and all the shops. Located on a quiet street. Beds are hotel comfy. Showers are hot hot. Super clean. A super deal for a priceless experience.
